Linda

Linda

Practice Manager, Human Resources Administrator

Linda grew up tending to the ducks, geese, chickens, goats, and rabbits that her father and grandfather bred—she’s been involved with animal care since she was a little girl. She simply can’t imagine doing anything else! Linda has been a part of the West Greenwich Animal Hospital family from the very beginning.

Originally from Cranston, Rhode Island, Linda started working as a pet groomer at the age of 16 before becoming a Veterinary Technician three years later. After brief periods working at other local clinics, Linda joined the West Greenwich Animal Hospital team shortly after the doors opened to the public in 1995. She served the area’s pets as a Veterinary Technician until 2006, when she took on the role of Practice Manager. Linda is particularly fond of implementing new ways to grow and promote the clinic, and she loves to use her problem-solving skills to keep the hospital running smoothly on all fronts. Linda is a current member of the VHMA studying to earn her CVPM.

Linda shares her life with several of her own animal companions at home. She has a crazy German shepherd mix named Asher, Charlie the Chinese Crested (who is constantly at Linda’s feet or on her lap) and a sweet, lovable Ragdoll kitty named Calvin.

Kara

Kara

Assistant Practice Manager

Hailing from a small farming town in northeast Connecticut, Kara spent the majority of her childhood trying to convince her mother to let her get a dog. Her passion for animals has only strengthened over the years and would ultimately shape her career path. Kara believes that animals are the commonality that unites people of every age, ethnicity, gender, economic status, and background.

While attending college for veterinary technology, Kara landed a job as a kennel care staff member at a canine boarding and training facility that specialized in all-breed obedience training and gun dog training. She eventually worked her way up to the role of associate kennel manager, and after several years there, moved on to a small animal practice where she ultimately became a supervisor.

Kara joined the West Greenwich Animal Hospital in June of 2024. She had previously worked for a corporately owned practice where the focus was more on profits, and she wanted to find a clinic that prioritized patient care and client education. Professionally, Kara has a special interest in behavior and enjoys “winning over” challenging patients. She also has a soft spot for brachycephalic dogs – especially bulldogs and Boston terriers.

Outside of the clinic, Kara lives with her husband, Lewis, and their young son, Connor. Their family is made complete with two cats (Colt and Axel), and two dogs (Rayna and Ragner). The dogs enjoy hiking and going for bye-byes (especially to Dunkin Donuts for a snack). The cats enjoy finding new creative places to leave hairballs in the middle of the night.

As a new parent, Kara’s hobbies mostly include watching “Bluey”, singing The Wheels on the Bus, and playing endless games of peek-a-boo. In a previous life, Kara spent her days drawing, reading, and watching the Cowboys. Several years ago, she and Lewis were able to fly to Dallas to see a game in person for their honeymoon, which was an awesome experience.

Tracy

Tracy

Certified Veterinary Technician

Tracy is a Rhode Island native, and has been fascinated by animals nearly all her life. Working in the field of veterinary medicine allows her to give something back to the pets who have offered her so much, and she’s able to make a lasting impact in the community at the same time. All in all, Tracy has served as a veterinary professional for 40 years!

Tracy’s journey began when she completed an externship at a local veterinary hospital during high school. She was offered a part-time position there immediately afterward, which she gladly accepted. Tracy continued to gain experience in the field throughout her college career, then took a supervisory position at an emergency hospital; that’s when she first met Dr. Ralph Pratt. Next, she became the surgical assistant at a surgical consultation practice and also worked here at West Greenwich Animal Hospital on a part-time basis starting in 1999.

In 2004, Tracy accepted a full-time position with the clinic, and has been helping the area’s pets and animal owners as a Certified Veterinary Technician ever since. Medically, she enjoys surgical work, dental cleanings, and radiology. Most of all, Tracy loves to form bonds with local pet owners and their loveable animal companions.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Tracy loves to garden, cook, and bake. She even helps to feed the hospital staff at lunchtime with vegetables from her own garden!

Ashley

Ashley

Veterinary Technician

Ashley is a West Greenwich native, and grew up trying to save every mouse, mole, and garden snake she came across. When it came time to decide on a career path, she quickly realized that veterinary medicine would allow her to care for the animals she loved so much while also making a real difference in the lives of their owners! Ashley is proud to serve as a Veterinary Technician at West Greenwich Animal Hospital.

After studying business and economics at Salem State University, Ashley transferred to the University of Rhode Island to start her journey in veterinary medicine. She took a Veterinary Assistant certification course during her studies, which required completion of clinical hours—that’s when she joined the West Greenwich Animal Hospital team. Ashley started shadowing here at the clinic in the spring of 2016, and now works as a Veterinary Technician. She particularly enjoys learning new things on a daily basis, working alongside her caring and positive co-workers, and spending time with the clinic’s visiting pets to keep them as comfortable and happy as possible.

Outside of her interests in the animal-care world, Ashley likes playing rugby and spending time with her husband Justin, their daughter Ivy, and their pets at home. She has 3 dogs – Rambo, Trooper, and Little- 2 pot bellied pigs – Benny and Mabel- and a cat named Morticia who acts more like a velociraptor.

Sharon

Sharon

Veterinary Receptionist

Although she grew up in the city, Sharon always felt that she was a country girl at heart. A big part of that was her love for animals! She remembers falling in love with a neighbor’s dog during her childhood—she never forgot that feeling of compassion. For her, a career in veterinary medicine is simply the perfect fit!

Sharon began her journey in animal-care by taking care of injured horses from the racetrack. Her love of veterinary medicine continued to blossom as time went on, and she decided to venture into small-animal care. Sharon has now been a receptionist with the West Greenwich Animal Hospital team for many years, and still adores devoting her days to the area’s loveable pets and their caring owners.

At home, Sharon keeps several pets of her own. She owns two horses and a pair of pet chickens, and she also shares her life with two wonderful cats and a Japanese Chin.

Melissa

Melissa

Veterinary Technician

Growing up in a rural part of North Providence, Rhode Island, Melissa spent a lot of time rescuing stray kittens, squirrels, and baby birds as a child. By the time she nursed her own cat back to health from a leg fracture during her freshman year of high school, one thing had become quite clear: Melissa was destined for a career in the world of animal medicine!

Melissa first began working as a Veterinary Technician right after high school and continued doing so into her college years. She has experience in small-animal, pocket pet, and even zoo medicine. Melissa joined the West Greenwich Animal Hospital family in 2000, and especially likes educating clients on animal behavior topics and using X-rays and ultrasound techniques to diagnose health issues. Throughout her journey in animal care, she has had the opportunity to pet a manatee, touch a cheetah, feed a lemur, and kiss a rhinoceros—next, Melissa hopes to snuggle with an anteater!

Melissa and her husband David share their home with their standard Schnauzers named Steve and Kit. When she isn’t enjoying her own pets’ company or helping others here at the hospital, Melissa loves boating, camping, snowmobiling, and fishing with her family in the great outdoors.

Dianna

Dianna

Veterinary Technician

Dianna is a lifelong animal lover, and has wanted to make a difference in the lives of pets ever since she was young. As a Veterinary Technician with the West Greenwich Animal Hospital family, she’s able to spend time around pets daily while using her skillset to make a lasting impact on the community!

Dianna grew up in Warwick, Rhode Island and served as a dog trainer for many years before becoming a Veterinary Technician. When she moved back to this area in 2007, she started looking for her next opportunity. That’s when Dianna joined the West Greenwich Animal Hospital team! Here at the clinic, she has special passions for surgical work and dental cleanings.

Outside of her interests in the animal-care world, Dianna is an avid gardener and also enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family at home. She shares her life with her daughter, Mary-Jane, her son, Parker, and an Australian shepherd who goes by Ripple.

Abby

Abby

Veterinary Technician

After watching her family dog fall ill, Abby vowed to learn more about the veterinary field so that she could help other animals as best as she could. While searching for a practice to work at, she stepped foot into West Greenwich Animal Hospital and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere, location and friendly staff. Needless to say, she was excited to join the staff as a veterinary technician!

A native of Pawcatuck, CT, Abby has loved animals for as long as she can remember. Whenever her school teachers would ask her what she wanted to do when she grew up, she would tell them she wanted to work with animals. After high school she began cosmetology school and became a licensed cosmetologist, but she still longed to be around her beloved furry creatures. She would go on to complete her veterinary assistant certification and pursue her dream.

Abby currently lives in Rhode Island with her boyfriend Ricky, along with their two guinea pigs, Jif and Skippy. Whenever Abby isn’t busy at the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her adorable pets, hiking, gardening, birdwatching and sitting on the porch and enjoying the beauty of nature.

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn

Veterinary Technician

Most young girls love to play with Barbie dolls, but at that age, Kaitlyn was different. Instead of dressing up Barbie dolls, Kaitlyn’s love for animals led to her playing with stuffed animals. That was the first sign that she had a deep passion for animals, and that passion has only gotten stronger over time. Today “Katie” is a veterinary technician at West Greenwich Animal Hospital!

Katie knew from a young age that she wanted to be around animals – the only question was in what capacity. She wanted to either be a zoo keeper or a field researcher for wolves or weasels, so to gain experience, she landed a job in a zoo and then worked for the Division of Agriculture. These experiences have helped Katie realize that working with and around animals was her calling. She loves the feeling of taking care of other people’s animals as if they were her own.

Katie is a native of Rhode Island, where she grew up living with her mother and brother. They had several different pets in the household, but her most memorable one was a dog named Sam, who Katie’s mother had saved from an abusive owner. Sam played the role of protector for the family, even going as far as to look out for Kaitlyn and her brother when they would go sledding down the hill!

In her free time, you can find Katie at home hanging out with her husband, daughter and adorable cat named Miles. She loves collecting crystals and has even taken classes as an energy healer, which she believes helps her in dealing with animals at the hospital.

Jessica

Jessica

Veterinary Technician/Receptionist

Jessica has literally been around animals since birth—she grew up on a farm and spent time with everything from dogs, cats, and horses to goats, chickens, turkeys, and pigs. For her, animal care has been a part of life ever since she can remember. It simply makes sense for her to use her passion for the greater good! Now, Jessica has been a part of the West Greenwich Animal Hospital family for over a decade.

After showing pigs through the 4-H program in her younger years, Jessica started working as a kennel attendant at a local animal shelter during her final year of high school. She would remain there for seven years, working her way up to an Animal Care Technician position and balancing a full-time shift schedule with animal-science and technology courses at the University of Rhode Island.

In November of 2005, Jessica joined the West Greenwich Animal Hospital team, and now serves as a Veterinary Technician and also does reception work. She loves to learn new things every single day and watch pets grow and mature over the years. Jessica’s favorite part of the job, though, is swapping fun stories with pet owners just like herself.

Outside of work, Jessica is fond of listening to music, reading, hiking, kayaking, and spending time on the beach. She has a goofy and fun-loving rescue dog, Radar, as well as four cats—Melody, Capri, Dark n Dou, and Kubota—that she bottle-fed and raised from the time they were orphaned kittens.

Jenny

Jenny

Veterinary Receptionist

A nurturer at heart, Jenny cares deeply about the wellbeing of others, human and animal alike. Growing up in Potsdam, Germany with a mother who was also an animal lover, Jenny learned early on how to care for pets. Even as a small child, she would catch and release spiders, beetles, bees, etc. instead of killing them – something she still does to this day. To Jenny, it’s all about coexistence, acceptance and compassion. Being in the veterinary field enables her to do her part on a much bigger scale!

After several years working in various local clinics, and some precious time spent as a stay-at-home Mom, Jenny was thrilled to learn that West Greenwich Animal Hospital was hiring. She has quickly become an integral part of the WGAH team, filling many roles, from receptionist to technician. Professionally, Jenny particularly enjoys nursing sick or injured animals back to health. She cares very deeply about their wellbeing and takes great satisfaction in seeing them go home. She also takes great pleasure in helping clients in any way she can and making their experience with us a positive one.

Jenny and her husband own a 3-acre hobby farm in western Coventry. Their little “zoo” consists of a very cute little monkey, aka their daughter, Emelia; two scruffy mutts named Oliver and Biene Maja (pronounced Beenuh Maya); two geldings named Jazzy and Takoda; two very bonded felines – Hello Kitty and Phelomino; and a flock of chickens and ducks as well as various fish, from Butterfly koi to Beta.

Outside of her busy work life, Jenny is happiest when she is outdoors. She loves going for hikes with the dogs and spending time cleaning and organizing the barn. Her greatest achievements in life include giving birth to Emelia and teaching her how to be a decent human being who cherishes nature and wants to preserve and protect it – just like her Momma!

Sarah G.

Sarah G.

Veterinary Receptionist

Ever since she was a young girl, Sarah knew that she was destined to be around animals. Her mother put the idea of working with animals in her head at a young age, and now, many years later, it has come to fruition. As a receptionist at West Greenwich Hospital, Sarah gets to be around the animals she loves while also serving as the first friendly face clients see when they walk through the door!

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Sarah always had pets while growing up. One of her pets was a cat named Rosie who ended up becoming ill with spots on her lungs. Watching her cherished cat get sick made Sarah even more determined to help other animals.

Sarah enjoys many facets of being a part of the West Greenwich Animal Hospital staff. She appreciates the valuable opportunity to learn new things from all of her coworkers, like performing blood work. She also relishes the chance to talk to clients and soothe their worries when it comes to the status of their pets.

When Sarah isn’t at the vet hospital, you can find her at home tending to her dog, Mazikeen, a half-Rottweiler, half-American pitbull terrier who loves hunting for bugs and chasing smoke!

Maddie

Maddie

Veterinary Technician

Growing up in Scituate with her parents and older sister, Maddie can’t remember a time when her family didn’t have at least one pet running around. She even had a beloved chicken, whom she affectionately called Chick Chick. Over the years, Maddie’s interest in animals developed into a career aspiration. She always knew she’d one day work with animals for a living!

Maddie attended URI, where she received her bachelor’s degree in animal science. Upon graduation, she found herself at a crossroads, not knowing whether she wanted to become a technician or a zookeeper. An internship at Roger Williams Zoo convinced her she wanted to work with cats and dogs, so she spent a few years working as a technician at a clinic in Scituate before joining the West Greenwich Animal Hospital team in February of 2023.

Clinically, Maddie loves being in the exam room and tending to patients. When an animal comes in sick and then returns for a recheck a few weeks later feeling so much better, it’s such a great feeling. She also has a peculiar interest in performing nail trims. It’s just so satisfying.

Outside of work, Maddie still resides in Scituate with her mother, sister, and their four crazy pets. Moana is a super affectionate cat who likes to climb and hang out on Maddie’s shoulders. Her brother Jax will come when he’s called. Then there’s Kia, a shih tzu, and Cali, an Aussie who recently became an amputee. Seeing her run around the backyard like a wild woman, you’d never know she only has three legs! It’s a testament to how tough and resilient animals are.

Gabby

Gabby

Veterinary Technician

Gabby hails from North Providence and has always had an interest in animals. As a young child, she remembers how much she enjoyed training the family dog and waking up early on the weekends to watch Animal Planet. As a veterinary technician here at West Greenwich Animal Hospital, Gabby has been able to fulfill her lifelong dream of helping pets for a living!

Gabby’s career journey began as a freshman in high school when she started an internship at another clinic. Upon graduation, she went on to pursue her certification and worked as a vet tech for several years before joining the WGAH team in March of 2023. Her favorite thing about her job is client education, and helping pet parents understand the why and how of their pet’s health. She also has a special interest in surgery and ophthalmology, as both are challenging and offer plenty of opportunities to learn.

Outside of work, Gabby has three fur babies of her own, including a lab named Primrose, a chihuahua named Eva, and a bunny named Mazikeen. Primrose is extremely smart and, thanks to Gabby’s training, has mastered over 20 tricks so far. Eva is a typical princess, who loves snuggling, sunbathing and treats. Mazikeen is a little rascal who loves getting into trouble and stealing things she isn’t supposed to have.

In her spare time, Gabby enjoys dog training and working with wildlife and exotic pets. She and Primrose will soon be participating in obedience and rally competitions.

Faith

Faith

Veterinary Technician

Growing up in North Kingstown, Faith’s interests always revolved around animals in one way or another. She spent countless hours as a child, playing with her dogs and going on backyard adventures with them. And while her career goals evolved over the years, from zoo tech to K-9 unit officer to dog trainer, and finally now to veterinary technician, the one thing that has remained constant for Faith over the years has been her passion for animals.

Faith’s journey began at her aunt’s doggy daycare, where she worked as an attendant and training assistant. There, she was able to learn about dog sports and develop a deep understanding of canine behavior. Faith joined the West Greenwich Animal Hospital in October of 2022, after having been a client for several years. Professionally, she enjoys seeing the progress nervous patients make as they begin to feel comfortable. She also likes watching puppies and kittens as they grow and develop, and finds sick visit follow ups to be the most rewarding part of the job.

At home, Faith is ‘mom’ to a goofy pit bull named Remy (his full name Remus is only used on the rare occasions when he’s in trouble). Not exactly the cuddling kind, Remy prefers to show his love for Faith by staring at her. Quite the finicky fellow, if things aren’t done according to his taste, he will buff like a toddler. In addition to his sweaters and stuffed animals, Remy also loves spending time with his sister, Piper, a Jack Russel/chihuahua mix, and his girlfriend, Bossy, an Australian cattle dog. Among the few things Remy does not like is a cardboard cutout of David Hasselhoff.

In her spare time, Faith enjoys drawing, crocheting, playing video games, gardening, and hiking. She is currently training Remy to get comfortable using a muzzle, which he most definitely must wear whenever he needs his nails clipped.
