Chances are, at some point during your pet’s lifetime, he or she will have to undergo some type of surgical procedure. At West Greenwich Animal Hospital, we understand that bringing your pet in for surgery, regardless of how simple or routine it may be, can be a difficult and stressful time for you both. That’s why we work tirelessly to ensure that each surgical procedure performed at our hospital is as stress-free an experience as possible. Let us set your mind at ease.

The veterinarians at WGAH are highly skilled and experienced in performing a broad range of veterinary surgeries, from routine spay and neuters to emergency surgery and other, more complex procedures. We use the most modern equipment and innovative surgical techniques and we adhere to the highest standards of care at all times. At West Greenwich Animal hospital, your pet’s safety and comfort are always our first priority.

All surgical patients are thoroughly examined and tested to ensure that they are healthy enough to undergo anesthesia and surgery. We run our diagnostic tests in-house, which allows us to gather the information we need quickly so that we can save precious time making important decisions about the life and health of your pet. Our anesthetic products are the safest available, and are carefully administered by our highly skilled technicians. Surgical patients are closely monitored at all times to ensure their comfort and well being – before, during and following surgery.

The surgical procedures performed at West Greenwich Animal Hospital include:

  • Spay/Neuter
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Dental Procedures
  • Lump/Tumor Removal
  • Emergency Surgery

Regardless of whether your pet’s surgery is considered to be routine or is required in an emergency situation, the very same high standard of care always applies.

Once surgery is complete, a member of our compassionate care team will remain with your pet to monitor them as they come out of anesthesia. Pain medication straight from our in-house pharmacy may be administered as needed to help ensure that your pet remains as comfortable as possible post-operatively. When you arrive to pick up your pet, we’ll go over any post-surgical care instructions, such as how to change your pet’s dressings, as well as an individualized pain management plan to help your pet recover comfortably. We’ll also gladly answer any questions you may have about the surgery and aftercare instructions.

If you have any questions about pet surgery or would like to make an appointment to schedule a surgery for your animal companion, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 401-397-8887.
